CARI is a registered charity founded in * and
is currently the leading provider of professional, child centred
therapy services to children, families and groups who have been
affected by child sexual abuse. CARI’s therapy services provide
therapy to children * and under who have been
affected by sexual abuse and children aged *
and under who present with sexually harmful behaviour.
FULL TIME ROLE, 2-YEAR SPECIFIC PURPOSE CONTRACT BASED IN THE WEST OF
IRELAND:
Barnahus West and CARI have joined together to develop a new therapy
pilot project.
Barnahus West is an interagency service making sure that children and
young people receive the right help and support by coordinating and
providing all the services under the one roof. Bringing together
Tusla, the HSE, and An Garda Siochana. By responding in this way, the
services can gather the best evidence, helping prevent any further
trauma to the child by limiting the number of times they have to tell
professionals what has happened to them and to provide the support to
children to ensure better outcomes.
The therapy pilot project is an early intervention programme which
aims to support both the child and their non-offending caregiver with
early intervention support.
The role involves the provision of therapy to children and adolescents
who may have experienced sexual abuse. The role also includes
therapeutic interventions with parents or carers of the young person.
Previous experience of working therapeutically with children is vital,
as is an ability to work within a team environment.
Reporting directly to the Therapy Team Leader, to ensure quality in
service delivery and consistency in approach. Individual supervision
will be provided.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
* Experience of providing therapy to children, teens, adults, and
families.
* Masters counselling or psychotherapy and recognized by IHAP, ICP,
IACP
* Have a minimum of two years relevant post qualification
experience.
* Knowledge of Children First Guidance.
* Ability to work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary and
interagency team.
* Be a member of an accrediting body.
* Required a full clean driving license.
Successful candidate will be employed directly by CARI but will work
as part of the wider Barnahus interagency team.
